Animations and graphics are more than just visuals, they’re storytelling tools that reveal the unseen, emphasize key ideas, and drive narratives forward. They have the power to elevate a film’s message, making complex concepts clear and unforgettable.

On this page, I’m excited to share some of my most impactful work with MeatEater and OutdoorClass, where I used motion graphics and animation to amplify stories that inspire, educate, streamline workflows with MOGRTs, and connect audiences to the world around them.

Animation & Graphics

At OutdoorClass, I had the privilege of creating a diverse range of graphic elements that brought our educational content to life. From sleek titles and intricate 3D renders to engaging social media visuals, my work didn’t just enhance aesthetics it amplified storytelling and enriched the viewer experience.

A key contribution was developing Motion Graphic Templates (MOGRTs) in After Effects, which streamlined editing workflows, ensured brand consistency, and allowed editors to focus on delivering impactful teaching content. These templates saved time while maintaining the highest visual standards.

Every project I undertook balanced creativity, strategy, and professionalism, reinforcing the brand’s identity and delivering content that educated, captivated, and inspired. My time at OutdoorClass sharpened my ability to pair innovative design with efficient workflows, skills I’m excited to bring to future collaborations.

Social media edits

I specialized in creating graphics specifically tailored for social media, optimized for 9:16 video formats and modern platforms. These edits seamlessly combined visual effects with concise copy, ensuring they captured attention while meeting the demands of modern algorithms by functioning as dynamic videos rather than static imagery. By crafting content that was both engaging and strategically formatted, I enhanced the reach and impact of our messaging across digital channels.

MOTION GRAPHIC TEMPLATES

One of the unique advantages of motion graphics is their ability to save time in the long run. With Motion Graphic Templates (MOGRTs), I developed dynamic titles, lower thirds, and descriptor graphics in After Effects, all designed for seamless integration into Premiere Pro.

These templates streamlined the editing workflow, enabling editors to focus on perfecting the teaching points without worrying about the challenges of independently integrating motion graphics. By ensuring clean, consistent, and brand-compliant visuals, MOGRTs not only saved time but also elevated the overall production quality.

Although my time at MeatEater was shorter than at OutdoorClass, the experience was nothing short of extraordinary. During my time there, I had the opportunity to showcase my skills across a variety of projects, including map design, transitions, and traditional animation. One standout experience was working on Pardon My Plate: Season 2, a series that challenged me to push creative boundaries and refine my craft.

This project required a deep dive into the fundamentals of animation to match the desired aesthetic—a cartoon-inspired, quasi-old-timey feel. Collaborating closely with editors, I helped illustrate designs in Illustrator, bring them to life in After Effects, and integrate them seamlessly into Premiere Pro for final export. The result was a cohesive and engaging visual style that elevated the series.

(This work was a significant accomplishment for both myself and the team, and I’m especially grateful to Maggie Smith and Zach Newton for their invaluable collaboration and mentorship throughout the process.)
